Optimising law firms as one operating system.

I spent a decade leading transformation as an operating executive inside a global law firm — UK COO, ANZ COO, and latterly running Global Business Services at Clyde & Co, from 2016 to 2025.

Since September 2025 I've been working with Alt-V to build a way of optimising law firms based on the premise that they operate as one system across strategy, operations, AI and technology, partner economics, pricing, and M&A. Value is created across those domains, rather than inside any single one.

What I do now: help managing partners and boards understand the operating system whole and act on it. Pricing under AI-discount pressure, integration after a deal, tech-stack rationalisation, organisation design when leverage assumptions break.

Ten years in law across four seats at Clyde & Co, within a wider 25+ year executive career. Current work in the field: diagnostics, methodology and long-form IP built at Alt-V.
